Nusa Dua, Bali, July 2012… The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali is delighted to announce that its next UNICEF Check Out For Children charity event will be a concert by internationally acclaimed Indonesian violinist, Iskandar Widjaja. This exclusive performance will take place in the Nusa Indah Hall on Friday, 24th August 2012.

German born Iskandar Widjaja started playing the violin at the tender age of four and he attended the prestigious College of Music in Berlin from the age of 11 onwards. Iskandar was later accepted into the Julius Stern Institute Berlin, a pre-college division for the musically gifted. He finally completed his education in 2010 at the University of the Arts in Berlin.   

Iskandar has given recitals and performed as a soloist as well as chamber musician with esteemed orchestras in famous venues across Europe. His debut album entitled ‘Bach n Blues’ was launched in 2011 and he is now passionate about introducing classical music to Indonesian audiences. Iskandar is blessed with a rare talent that unites people of any age and nationality through his truly inspiring violin music.

During his time at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali, Iskandar Widjaja will conduct an exclusive one hour violin sharing session. He will also work with some of Bali’s most promising violin students and incorporate them into his evening performance. The show will include a musical collaboration with the children from a local choir and close with a photo opportunity and CD signing.

Tickets for ‘An Evening with Iskandar Widjaja’ Gala Show are priced at just IDR 50,000-. Limited places for the Violin Sharing Session will be available for IDR 250,000- inclusive of a signed CD, photo memento, certificate and the Gala Show. This will be a unique opportunity for budding musicians to meet the prodigy in person. All proceeds will be donated directly to UNICEF to a project that provides educational opportunities and vaccinates children across the Asia Pacific region.
