Associates Show Artistic Talents For The Nusa Dua Fiesta 2012
Nusa Dua, November 2012… The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali was delighted to participate in the recent Nusa Dua Fiesta 2012. This annual event, hosted by the Bali Tourism Development Corporation (BTDC), showcases the Nusa Dua enclave as a safe and sustainable holiday destination.
The theme for this year’s event was ‘Segara Lelangunan', a Balinese term that loosely translates as appreciating the ocean’s mesmerizing beauty. It is ecological theme that relates directly to ‘green tourism’ by promoting coastal and marine awareness.
The opening parade of the fiesta saw The Westin’s team carry a giant sea horse effigy through the streets of Nusa Dua alongside other hotels from the area. It was a handcrafted creation that took weeks to construct by a group of artistically inclined associates.
Activities during the Nusa Dua Fiesta 2012 included a culinary challenge, music expo, underwater photography competition, performances of traditional arts and a fun bike ride. The resort also had its own stall during this exciting weekend event to provide light refreshments to visitors.
“I would like to thank all of our associates who took part in the Nusa Dua Fiesta 2012 and made this year’s event bigger and better than ever before. Our colourful sea horse was definitely a highlight of the opening parade and this fine team effort was a tribute to the Westin brand,” comments Mr. Bipan Kapur, Managing Director of The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali.
