Prego Returns to Jazz Market followed by Ferragosto Celebration
Prego once again delighted everyone at this year’s Jazz Market By The Sea Festival with its colorful stall serving authentic Italian street food. This is the second consecutive year that Prego has been involved in the festival, which ranks highly on the Bali’s social calendar.
Jazz Market By The Sea is an annual event that recreates the upbeat ambience of a traditional Indonesian marketplace. It attracts tourists, expatriates and members of the local community with live music, delicious food options and retail stalls in a tropical garden environment overlooking the beach.
Chef Alex and his team really got into the spirit of this fun-filled festival that was held to coincide with the celebrations of Indonesian Independence Day. The Prego stall was located on the main lawn close to all the music action and was constantly packed with hungry visitors.
Menu highlights included a delicious panini- style sandwich called il panino con la Mortazza and a classic Italian sweet made from sugar and almonds. Prego also did a roaring trade with its refreshing selection of home-made gelatos that tasted just as good as they looked.
On the same weekend Prego also hosted an extra special Ferragosto Family Brunch on Sunday, 17th August 2014 to celebrate summer. Ferragosto takes place every year all over Italy and is a carefree time to eat and be merry.
Ferragosto at Prego was a fun day out for everyone with great food, games and entertainment. Guests enjoyed a welcome glass of Prosecco on arrival along with non-alcoholic options for little ones to set the party mood. Brunch included an extensive selection of authentic Italian cuisine plus a BBQ station with assorted grilled meats, seafood and a traditional La Prochetta suckling pig.
In-house guests mingled with outside visitors to participate in an array of summer-inspired games that took place in Prego’s tropical garden. There were prizes galore for the winners of classic activities such as sack races, hoop relays and Italian lawn bowls (bocce). Water balloon piñatas also provided some good old-fashioned fun for the children in attendance.
A chill-out pool party in the afternoon continued the Ferragosto celebration with live DJ music and creative cocktails. Many families used this opportunity to relax in the stylish surrounding of the Premium swimming pool whilst waiting for the sun to go down.
Prego at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali has well and truly earned its place as one of the best family-friendly restaurants on the island. It puts the fun back into Italian dining in an uplifting setting that complements Bali’s relaxed holiday vibe.
