
The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali warmly welcomed Miss World 2010, Alexandria Mills from the United States on Friday, 4 June 2011. She was accompanied by Miss Indonesia 2011, Astrid Ellena who was just crowned on Thursday, 3 June, 2011 in Jakarta. The delegation also included the CEO of Media Nusantara Citra, Mr. Hary Tanoesoedibjo, Founding Member of Miss Indonesia, Liliana Tanoesoedibjo as well as Miss World Events Director, Stephen Douglas Morley. They were greeted by General Manager, Mr. Bipan Kapur, along with several senior associates.
The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali was home to the group for three days where they were treated to a refreshing breakfast with Indonesia`s Coordinating Minister for People`s Welfare, Mr. Agung Laksono. They also enjoyed an array of rejuvenating spa rituals as well as an intimate poolside dinner with traditional dances.
The delegation genuinely enjoyed their trip and they were impressed by the gracious hospitality and creativity of the people, the rich culture and the beauty of the island. The tour itinerary included visits to the areas of Seminyak, Jimbaran and Nusa Dua.
Miss World bid a fond farewell to the island on Monday, 6 June, 2011. “It is with some hesitation that I return home to the United States to see my family as I have simply fallen in love with everything that Bali has to offer,” commented Alexandria Mills. Similarly, Astrid Ellana confessed that she felt the same. She found the beauty of Bali to be truly refreshing especially following several intense weeks of participating in activities in the lead up to the Miss Indonesia Pageant.
