Bali International Conference Centre (BICC) and The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali is proud to have been the main venue for the recent ASEAN Business and Related Summits.
This prestigious event brought together leaders of ASEAN member states, numerous foreign ministers and ASEAN business heads. Those in attendance included the President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyo representing the host country, Prime Minister of Malaysia, The Honorable Dato’ Sri Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak, Prime Minister of Vietnam, Nguyen Tan Dung, Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Hsien Loong, Prime Minister of Australia, Julia Gillard, Prime Minister of Laos, Thongsing Thammavong, President of Myanmar, Thein Sein, Prime Minister of Thailand, Yingluck Shinawatra, Prime Minister of Cambodia, Samdech Hun Sen, President of Philippine, Benigno Simeon Cojuangco Aquino III, Sultan of Brunei Darussalam, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of South Korea, Kim Hwang-Sik and Prime Minister of Australia, Ms Julia Gillard.
The Summit was also attended by President of the United States, Barack Obama, United States Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, President of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff, Secretary General of United Nation, Ban Ki-Moon, Premier of the Government Administration Council of the Central People’s Government of People’s Republic of China, Wen Jiabao, Foreign Minister of Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov and many more high ranking officials.
A number of side events and bilateral meetings were conducted at the Bali International Convention Centre and The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali during the summit, Including Women’s Empowerment hosted by the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment of Indonesia with First Lady, Ani Yudhoyono, being the Chairperson. In addition, the ASEAN Economic Conference, Award Ceremony from United Nation to the Republic of Indonesia, 9th ASEAN – India Summit, 6th East Asia Summit, ASEAN Supreme Audit Institution and The President Retreats.
ASEAN Textile Exhibition and a Photo Exhibition entitled ‘The Color of Harmony’, a Photography Journey by Indonesia’s First Lady, Ani Yudhoyono. Summit participants and delegates were also invited to attend a series of networking cocktails, social gathering as well as gala dinner. These events took place in the resort’s tropical garden, by the beach and in the grandeur of the convention centre’s ballroom.
With 90% of the resort occupied by delegates attending the summit, all Associates of The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali excelled in delivering unrivalled service and hospitality. The entire team began preparing for this event eight months in advance to ensure that every single detail was handled with precision.

A lot of thought went into the preparation and setup of the President Retreat Luncheon. Ewald Jeske, Executive Chef of The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali and his team created an innovative menu inspired by the very best and freshest ingredients that the island has to offer combine with the healthful SuperFoodRx menu which is signature to Westin. Handmade Balinese lace was used as a decorative element to add an artistic touch to the setting.
